A refinement of the gap I’m addressing:

enhance the comfort and security of traffic on rainy days

As we all know, riding bicycles or motorcycles on rainy days always gets us on nerve. Because we’re likely to get soaked up: the raincoat doesn’t prevent us from getting wet, because feet cannot be well covered. What’s more, the vehicles bypassing roll up water

Comfort

ü  Avoid our feet from getting wet because of the cars bypassing

ü  Avoid the mask of the helmet getting foggy so we cannot see clearly

ü  The raincoat can fully cover us

ü  Avoid shoes from getting wet

ü  Rainy days arouse serious nose allergic symptoms, so make it accessible to take tissue blowing the nose while drive or ride bikes at the same time

ü  Avoid the floor indoor from getting dirty and muddy

ü  sometimes unexpected rain falls, so avoid the interior of the helmet from getting wet

ü  the material of a raincoat is mostly nylon, which is not breathable at all. And to make the riders be noticed, the raincoat is usually made into vivid colors, which is not aesthetically good-looking. So the need would be to make a raincoat breathable and good-looking.

Convenience

ü  Increase the number of parking space

!  After arriving our destination, we have room to put or dry our raincoats

ü  Something to remind us where we parked our vehicles

ü  Putting on and off raincoats repeatedly for taking out things from backpack(which is covered by the raincoat) is a hassle, so make it easier to do so.

!  The umbrella can “stand” against a wall

!       if there’s something that can hold up my beverage on the knob without damping, that would be perfect.

!  it’s difficult to take the umbrella and ride a bike at the same time, hope there’s some shelter invented for bikes

Security

ü  We can see the road clearly, especially pits

ü  The distance between big vehicles( for example: cars) and small vehicles (for example: motorcycles) are well regulated, so car drivers can see the motorcyclists from their seats

ü  Avoid water from reducing the friction force of the wheel so that vehicles won’t slip off

!  Holding up an umbrella won’t hindering us from seeing outside

ü  Can easily make assessment about the time delayed

ü  Things aren’t easily stolen when hanging outside the motorcycles

ü  Getting in and out of a car is convenient(now we’ll first have to see if there’s car coming from the rear, hope there’s something to skip doing this)

ü  raindrops adhere to glasses, but we can still see clearly.

ü  with such hurry on rainy days, we forget to unplug the motorcycle key, which leads it to be stolen. So the need is something to remind us of the key

ü  when motorcycles stops for traffic light, the feet step on the ground to support and balance it, but the narrow space between each means of transportation makes it easy for the feet to be run over by the bypassing cars and vehicles. Dangerous! So the need is to make others notice the feet on the ground

ü  know the road conditions while riding motorcycles

ü  avoid the broke line of a bike, originally designed for safety, from getting broken under heavy rain

 

Environment

ü  reduce the co2 emission

ü  avoid the demand for electricity from soaring up because we drive car and turn on air conditioner.
